Empowering Nurses at the Bedside and in Business

Kindness ROCKS!

At this time of year where we give gratitude and thanks for our life and families, it is also a great time to remember to be kind to yourself. If you are struggling with your career or have been at it for a while and do not see that you are making any progress, remember to be kind to yourself. I know the first couple of years when I was a nurse is difficult, that voice in my head would say really mean things like, “I am a failure, what is wrong with me and why can’t I get my work done on time?” What I realized is none of these messages served me. They were a waste of energy and by telling myself that, that is exactly the reality that I created. Once I realized how important it is to be kind to myself and hold the intention that I have everything it takes to have a successful career and get my work done on time, that is when things started to change.

So remember, be kind to yourself. We are our own worst enemies and the put-downs that we say to ourselves are cruel, a waste of energy and only hurt us. Here is to a wonderful holiday season and looking forward to a fantastic 2014! Thank you for serving all the patients that need you and for everything else you do.
