In Appreciation
I believe that nurses are the hardest working people on Earth! You deserve Nurses Week.
You could not pay some folks enough money to do some of the things that nurses do and to be exposed to the things that nurses have to face.
Unfortunately, our efforts are not always recognized. Many times what we do is recognized by our patients but not necessarily by our co-workers or administration. Therefore, it is important that we generate our own appreciation while knowing in our heart that we are a truly valued but people may not express it and that you are an important member of the health care team.
To self-generate and know that you are truly appreciated, I suggest that any time a patient, a co-worker or management gives you a card or a note thanking you for your service, put it in a beautifully decorated gift bag. As you know, I love GIFTS!
I call this collection of appreciative writings “rainy day notes.” Any time you feel down or question yourself as to why you stay in nursing, just open the bag and read the rainy day notes. I bet it will pick you back up and make you feel both valued and fulfilled while reconnecting you with your heart as to why you chose to be a nurse in the first place.
Know this: I truly appreciate everything that you do in this world.
Happy Nurses Week!
